In new places I enjoy trying to work out the local traditions and formalities. This one in Vienna completely confused me.
Young Austrian soldiers march in to the main square.
They demonstrate all the expected disciplines expected from a soldier
Meanwhile a large group of young women gather laughing and giggling and enjoying the parade of men in front of them.
Slowly the young women line up one per soldier
400 or so Austrian soldiers and young women then start to salsa dance to a very loud PA system. I am a little perplexed.
I think this ‘young lady’ got lucky today
