The Berlin Wall East Side Gallery is a 1.3km-long section of the wall near the center of Berlin. There are 106 paintings by artists from all over the world covering this memorial for freedom. This makes it the largest open air gallery in the world.
It is interesting and there are some nice colours and images, however, I was more perplexed by all the photos and video everybody was taking and couldn’t help but think what the hell are we going to do with all the digital photos and multimedia in the world. I took 39 photos myself.
I took a moment to admire as 2 German girls attempted to copy the famous painting on the Berlin Wall, depicting the kiss between East German leader Erich Honecker and his Soviet counterpart Leonid Brezhnev (I missed my shot).
These days not only do you have to avoid bumping into people at tourist sites but also crossing the lines of fire of recording weapons.
Whilst trying to decide which of the multitude of photo sharing, manipulating and bizzare tools to use for my 39 photos a friend of mine sent me this hillarious You Tube video and everything became clear.
